News on short and long-term consequences of headers at the 3rd Science Congress of the German Football Association

Dr. Alexander Tarnutzer, member of the Swiss Concussion Center, presented the latest findings on the topic “effects of headers on brain functions and structures” on 21 January 2016 at the 3rd Science Congress of the DFB (German Football Federation) in Frankfurt. In the presentation, he illuminated the existing literature critically regarding possible influences of headers on neuro-cognition, balance, and brain metabolism processes. The 3rd DFB Science Congress was met with very lively interest due to its high-calibre programme and was fully booked with approximately 380 participants.
